God is a paradigm shifter!
When I say that God is a paradigm shifter, what I’m pointing to is the way the divine doesn’t just tweak our existing belief systems or lightly adjust our perspectives. When God is truly working within us, that unseen supernatural force completely dismantles outdated internal psychological and spiritual architectures within us that are no longer benefiting us in our soul’s journey—architectures that keep us in patterns of inner stagnation, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—where God clears space for something far more honest, expansive, and spiritually animated, initiating a complete reorientation of our consciousness and identity at the deepest levels.
From direct and personal experience, I can attest to the fact that this kind of paradigm shift is not theoretical, hypothetical, or ideational—it is a visceral, life-altering, and profoundly real experience. And until a person experiences the power of God working magic in their own inner psychological and spiritual landscape for themselves, where their inner world is tangibly and irrevocably transformed, it’s almost impossible to grasp the depth of what I’m pointing to unless one has experienced it firsthand in their own lived experience.
I share this as reassurance, because even I myself was once in a place in life where I had not yet been touched by the hands of God—where I was once living out the days of my life disconnected from my own inner light, cut off from experiencing processes of deep inner refinement, and existing outside of a direct and unmediated, spiritually sovereign relationship with the divine—a relationship that, when entered into from the heart and lived in authenticity, approached with openness and sincerity, is truly free-in-the-spirit, life-giving, and not bound by rigid doctrines of faith or narrow ideas of God.
This means that I know what it’s like to wake up from that place of spiritual slumber, inner desolation, and disconnection from God, and to begin living life from a state of conscious awareness, inner attunement, and inner knowing, rather than drifting through life on autopilot—where one is disconnected from one’s own inner light, one’s own internal guidance system, and from one’s own direct and unmediated relationship with the divine, which leaves one suspended in spiritual stagnation when this inner connection is absent. So, I know very well firsthand what it is to move through seasons of spiritual barrenness, existential heaviness, and a deep inner deadness before something real, soul-deep, enduring, and luminous begins to awaken within in the deepest recesses of our being.
It also means that I’ve come to see that so many other sincere seekers pass through this same place of spiritual barrenness on their way back home to themselves, into the discovery of their own inner light, and into an authentic relationship with God. And in many ways, it’s almost like an initiatory passage or rite of awakening into a deeper level of consciousness and selfhood—one that requires us to move through the depths of spiritual darkness and the lived experience of feeling disconnected, spiritually empty, and cut off from a deeper current of life, meaning, and purpose, so that we can directly experience the emergence of our own inner light and an actual spiritually sovereign relationship with the divine that exists beyond the borders of all religions, all spiritual pathways, and all rigid belief constructs.
This is why I believe this experience of paradigm shift isn’t rare, reserved for a select few, out of reach, or something only certain people get to experience—it is available to anyone that is willing to have their inner psychological and spiritual atmosphere stripped down, reconfigured, and opened up through a journey of self-deconstruction, deep healing, and surrender to the idea of becoming something more honest, authentic, and expansive than the version of themselves that was built around external expectations and constructed inside of rigid frameworks that never honored their inner complexity or their soul’s inherent wisdom—and that when God takes a hold of us, we are never the same again. This is because as this inner reconfiguration begins to unfold for us, we start to see ourselves, God, and reality in an entirely new way—an experience that feels spacious, awe-inspiring, and liberating, where through the paradigm shift that God initiates within us, we become opened up into a much larger sense of who we are and the reality that God is so much more creative, vast, multidimensional, mysterious, and more profound than we were ever taught to believe.
So, to those that know what I’m talking about, I’m glad that we can share this understanding of what a paradigm shift is, where we can recognize together just how deeply life-changing it truly is, what it sets into motion in our lives, and what we are now capable of in our own processes of refinement and becoming. And to those that haven’t yet experienced a paradigm shift, don’t ever think it can’t happen for you, because I was once where you are, and so many others have been there too, and this unfolding met us in its own time. It just sometimes takes a lot of courage to truly say yes to the process, to step into the unknown, and to start letting go of who we thought we were in our inherited beliefs, early conditioning, and overall societal shaping, in order to start recalibrating our lives into a more honest and soul-aligned place and direction.
By no means am I saying that this process is easy, or that it feels good while it’s happening, because it often moves through layers of darkness, grief, confusion, and deep emotional purging that can sometimes take many years of inner work, patience, and surrender to move through. But at some point along the way, just like I experienced, you will cross an internal threshold, and you will begin to feel the light returning within you in a new, sanctified and soul-awakened way—in a way where you may just come to realize that you had never truly known what it meant to be genuinely spiritually alive before this point in your life, and that you had been coasting through life in a slumber of disconnection from your soul all this time. And it’s a very humbling realization when you finally see just how asleep you once were, and how much of yourself and your connection to God you were cut off from.
But when the times come in your journey of waking up, deconstructing false identities, and reclaiming your inner truth, if you find yourself in that place of realizing how disconnected you’ve been, don’t get too down on yourself for having basically existed in a state of deep unconsciousness, spiritual darkness, existential fog, or disconnection from your own soul and inner light, because for those of us who are taking our spiritual journeys seriously, we’ve all walked through that place at some point in time before in our lives, and the fact that you’re even questioning, reflecting, and seeking—that already says more about you and where you’re at in your unfolding than you realize. And you should be really proud of yourself for having the courage to look inward, to question what you were taught, and to start recognizing that there is something more to you than the version of yourself you were conditioned to accept for yourself, and more to the divine than you were led to believe.
So, to those who are pretty much in the same place as me, let us keep heeding the call of our own individuated and spiritually sovereign path with God, growing in integrity, character, and self-honesty, and embracing the paradigm shift that truly is a gift from God that keeps on giving—where we continue to meet deeper layers of ourselves, life, and God. And to those who are just now beginning their journey, finding their footing, or who are just starting to wake up, welcome to the journey. It’s going to be a wild ride from here on out, because your inner psychological and spiritual atmosphere is about to change in ways that you can’t even yet imagine.
But just know that once you start to experience a shift of paradigm within you, or once you begin embracing a more free-in-the-spirit relationship with God, these changes within you that stem from having a genuine spiritual awakening are not just a one-time event—the rest of your life actually becomes a continuous process of growth, refinement, and inner realignment. And in this space of ongoing transformation, you’ll keep shedding layers of outdated self-concepts, and also keep letting go of who you were once told you had to be by people who aren’t even awake to their own conditioned identities, who haven’t yet experienced their own spiritual awakening or paradigm shift, and who are simply passing down their own unconscious patterns and unexamined beliefs. And as this process of inner transformation continues to unfold for you, you will begin to live more fully as your authentic self, beyond inherited identities, limiting beliefs, and eventually even versions of yourself that you’re just now stepping into.
It’s not really something that has an end point, so once you embrace this journey of inner transformation, awakening, and refinement in your own direct and unmediated connection with the divine, you would do well to see it as a lifelong unfolding rather than a finish line with a final destination. And seeing it this way, that in itself is part of the beauty of it, because in God, a limitless energy, being, or intelligence, there’s no end to depth, expansion, or becoming. There is always more of yourself waiting to be revealed, and more of God waiting to be known. And so to end this reflection on what it means to experience a paradigm shift, I simply want to say this: trust the process, trust God, and trust the sacred and unseen work that God is doing within you—even when you can’t see the full picture yet, because given enough time, you’ll come to realize just how much of your old self you’ve outgrown, and how deeply you’ve transformed.
And that feeling of experiencing a paradigm shift, or finally embracing an authentic free-in-the-spirit relationship with God, a turning point that leads to said inner transformation, it is truly something that words can barely touch or capture. And it is a feeling that maybe one can only describe as magic once it finally starts to happen to you. So, if you’re in this place right now, or even standing at the edge of it, know that nothing has gone wrong with you, your life, or your path — something sacred is unfolding within you, and you should definitely embrace it. And the sooner that you stop resisting it, the more gracefully it will begin to unfold for you, the more clearly it will reveal itself to you, and the more it will begin to guide you into meeting versions of yourself that you never would have believed were possible, versions of yourself that feel more honest, whole, spiritually alive, and aligned with who you truly are at a soul-deep level, rather than continuing to live from inherited conditioning, inauthentic identities, unconscious survival patterns, and a disconnected, never evolving way of being.
And that process, in itself, is the soul coming back online. And it is the sacred homecoming of your spirit.
You are being initiated into a deeper relationship with yourself, with God, and with life itself, so be gentle with yourself and trust what is unfolding.
This is what it means to have a paradigm shift with God.
And it’s one of the most sacred and life-altering experiences a soul can have while embodied here.
