Sometimes people say that they love our energy or the vibe we bring, and it’s not always about wanting something from us. A lot of the time, they’re just resonating with the light we naturally carry. It’s like they feel something real—our authenticity, strength, or presence—and it speaks to them.

But I get it—when you’ve dealt with people who tried to take advantage of that energy, it’s easy to feel guarded. Still, not every compliment hides an agenda. Sometimes, it’s just genuine appreciation for the way we show up, the presence we carry, and the energy we bring to the table.

That’s why I put together the slides below—they dive into this idea of embracing compliments without suspicion while staying grounded in who we are. It’s about recognizing the difference between people who want to honor our light and those who just want to drain it.

And when it comes down to it, it’s about trusting ourselves enough to discern what’s real. This means that we don’t have to shut ourselves off from positive connections just because we’ve had a few bad experiences. Instead, we can keep shining and let the right people see and appreciate us for who we truly are.

With that in mind, I hope that in the future when someone tells you that they love your energy or that they feel inspired by your presence, you won’t immediately second-guess their intentions. Instead, you’ll take a moment to recognize that maybe they’re just seeing a reflection of the light you naturally carry.

It doesn’t mean we stop being mindful of who we let into our space, but it does mean we don’t have to let past experiences close us off completely. After all, there’s something powerful about letting ourselves be seen and allowing genuine appreciation to remind us of the beauty we bring into the world.
